Non-destructive testing in defect investigation

Abstract: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) has emerged as a critical methodology in defect investigation across various industries, particularly in construction, aerospace, and manufacturing. This research paper explores the role of NDT in identifying and analyzing defects in materials and structures without causing any damage to the tested object. The paper provides a comprehensive overview of various NDT techniques, including ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, and eddy current testing. It also discusses the advantages and limitations of each method, along with case studies that demonstrate their application in real-world defect investigations. The paper concludes by examining the future directions of NDT, focusing on the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of defect detection.
